We all spend a lot of time imagining our future homes with white picket fences but when it comes to wedding planning, white reception venues are left in the dust for beautiful mansions, magnificent beaches and regal resorts. So what happened to the white wedding venue?
While you ponder that one, some inspiration today with a few truly lovely white wedding venues; beautiful old homes that serve as perfect choices, quaint backyards for a summer wedding, or even a little white gazebo, just right for an indoor/outdoor affair. So while I also love mansions, beaches, cities, hotels and resorts, it’s nice to see a beautiful white house as the center of the gorgeous wedding day.. even just once in a while
How could anyone find white on white boring after looking at these incredible all white wedding pictures. As if I should have to sell you on the idea of a white wedding palette, these should do most of the talking! Now normally I’m all about the pops of color here and there but if you want to choose something unique and dramatic, white on white is your color palette answer.
Don’t believe me? I imagine that aside from a white (although ivory is probably even more popular these days) wedding gown, that’s about as much white as your guests will expect at your wedding… but to make a dramatic impression, creating a monotone palette with all white will leave your guests stunned. What I love about white for a wedding day is that not only will you not see it and any other wedding you go to, but you will definitely have the wow factor that every bride is looking for. On top of this, white is so beautiful in pictures, and is the ultimate wedding statement. I chose a mix of white dresses, white reception halls, a white cathedral, white heels, a white signature drink, and plenty of ideas for white desserts… get the hint? Today is all about the white! If you aren’t sold yet… check out the ultra-glamorous white dessert table below and you will at least be sold on the desserts (white or not white…)
Black and white… my favorite two colors (really, they are). I know, maybe not the most exciting to some, but to me these are the perfect wedding colors. The black and white palette may be as traditional as they come; but there are ways to make even these colors wow your guests and leave an impression. The thing with blacks and whites is that the object needs to be special since the colors are, well, just black and white.
What you want to avoid is boring your guests which is why you need to choose carefully from the reception venue (check out the incredible Addison Park below) to your bridesmaids dresses (I am in love with this short black organza Romona Keveza dress). But it’s not just your choices for the things that guests notice most; it’s the little things like the shoes (two options below… both amazing and very different), the centerpieces (think outside of the box – instead of floral use something like these oversized candlesticks) and of course the bouquets (you never see just rose bouquets, so why not be a little different). The thing that makes these black and white wedding ideas so special is how they make this color palette come to life and give a wedding it’s very own character…
