A South Carolina Lowcountry Affair

Another week rolls around which means I’m in desperate need for a little cheer so I’m hoping this gorgeous wedding by sMm Photography is the trick to cure a case of the Monday’s! There are plenty of beautiful details but my favorite? You can probably guess.. it’s the dress! How beautiful is it! I can’t get past the capped sleeves and keyhole back but it doesn’t stop there because then there’s the lace!! But the dress isn’t the only detail here to swoon over, there are plenty of touches that made this day special like unique floral arrangements for each table, vintage tea-cups with succulents as the thank you gift for guests {DIY by the bride and groom}, and some awesome bouquets!

Happy Monday!

New Orleans Romance

Happy Monday lovelies! To kick start the week, we’re very excited to share this New Orleans affair by Mark Eric Photography complete with the flavor of the city, a romantic candlelit ceremony in a Parisian inspired courtyard, lots of French style and dramatic decor touches to top it all off. This wedding combined beautiful details with lots of fun {check out the brass band parade}! More in the words of the bride below…

In the words of the bride: Laissez les Bons temps rouler was what we had in mind while planning our wedding and let the good times roll is what we did! We wanted our guests to be able to experience a true New Orleans wedding while still keeping a romantic and intimate feel to it. From second lining down Canal St. led by the famed Original Pin Stripes Brass Band to dancing all night to the tunes of The TopCats we wanted to make sure our guests were entertained all night. One of our favorite things about New Orleans is Jackson Square and all the widely unique items the small square has to offer. We absolutely love caricature drawings so we had a caricature artist from New York create a rendering of us, which we placed on magnets, and sent out as our save the dates. To tie in our save the dates we had two caricature artists on hand creating custom drawings for the guests -which everyone is still raving about!! From the very beginning I envisioned a candlelit ceremony and reception; the ambiance that candle light provides is unmatched. With a Parisian inspired courtyard as the backdrop to our wedding, very little was needed to enhance the site. I wanted to keep the decor simple and elegant as not to distract from the venue itself but still wanted a touch of drama for the reception!

Trend Alert: Floral Crowns

We are long overdue for some accessory inspiration and for May, I couldn’t think of anything better than the floral crown {or halo}…

Historically, we may not see it as often as, say, the traditional veil or even the birdcage veil but that’s what makes it even more special! Perfect for a Spring wedding, an outdoor affair, or better yet, a garden ceremony, a floral crown can serve as that rustic, earthy, elegant or just unique accessory that you {the bride} or maybe even the flower girl (sixth photo below) can pull off magically!
