Elegant Outdoor Affair

Happy Tuesday lovelies! We found such a wonderful outdoor affair today by Matt Andrews Photography that I’m so excited to share! Set at a private home in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the bride {Shannon} walked down the aisle to the groom {Shane} singing a Brighteyes song. As if this isn’t enough {we know that it is…}, the groom’s father is songwriter Gary Baker, so the rehearsal dinner music was amazing with several special guests! But my favorite detail? Those bouquets… what a way to end April in style!

Board {#7} Cream, Lilac & Cactus Green

Can you believe we are already mid-way through April? Wow, where does the time go!! I was in desperate need of something very springy to kick start my week and so a pretty Spring inspiration board was just the thing to do it! Filled with a perky color combo that will hopefully brighten your day (or week)… lots of lilacs, creams and even a little cactus green in this palette! Happy Monday!

Trend Alert: A Black Spring Wedding

As Friday {finally} rolls around it’s way past time for the weekend! And we’re ending the first week in April on a high note with a fun trend for a spring wedding… a black color palette! You heard it right, a black color palette! I especially gush over this idea when it’s black for a garden wedding; there is something about the combination of garden and the elegance of black details… from a black chalkboard welcome sign or menu, a black cake, a black wedding gift card collector, I think you get the idea. Happy Friday!

Backyard DIY Garden Wedding

April officially equals Spring in the wedding world and prices are starting to heat up as Summer is just around the corner. This is always that time where we know budgets are out the window… Which is exactly why I wanted to kick off the wedding season with a beautiful and intimate garden wedding full of DIY handmade pieces like the wedding programs, the bride’s bouquet, and boutonnieres proving that a Spring/Summer wedding can be stunning – and not too expensive. The wedding, by Sincerely Liz Photography, was held in a peaceful outdoor garden, the colors – blue-grey patterned bridesmaids dresses blended with pale yellow touches here and there screams spring, but the DIY work pays off here; striking that just right balance of gorgeous and realistic!

The Loveliest Spring Bridesmaid Dresses

Spring may feel far away (at least for me thanks to these way too chilly temps) but we’re in full on Spring mode here at OTW! And today, we’re all about the fashion. The bridesmaids dress market may seem daunting especially for a Spring wedding because there is, well, just an overwhelming amount of options. Too many colors, style, lengths, designers, prices ranges etc leads to bridal confusion! But why make it more complicated than it is? Whether it’s Spring or any season, you should be choosing dresses that fit your big day, not that fit what the typical bridesmaids dress is. And that’s what makes these springtime picks so refreshing.

When I think of Spring weddings, for me it’s all about flowers, light and airy colors, and light {literally speaking} fabrics. So the dresses don’t have to be what ticks all of the traditional boxes but instead what fits your wedding and the season… and that’s what makes these choices special. I’d like to consider all of these just on the edge of non-traditional but a wonderful edge that every bride should go to to find that.perfect.bridesmaids.dress!!
