A Southern Plantation Affair

Happy Thursday lovelies! As you may already know, I love a plantation wedding.. especially a gorgeous one like ours today by Amy E Photography! Set at Gaither Plantation, this springtime wedding was filled with the perfect seasonal touches from the incredible boutonnieres {one of my personal favorites}, to the pink bow ties, well actually just the overall casual & stylish groomsmen attire is pretty fabulous. Moving onto the bouquets {seriously, how beautiful are these} and all the smaller things like the burlap, the cake “topper” and the cupcakes. Enough of my gushing? See for yourself…

Vintage Styled {Summer} Shoot

I love when I stumble across gorgeous styled shoots that just about convince me they aren’t just a shoot and this one did just that. Captured by Gigi Hickman Photography this shoot was set in Washington’s wine country and was complete with whimsical details; balloons, pastels, a champagne cart, a floral dog collar and of course my personal favorite, macaroons!

There is something vintage, delicate and very pretty about this shoot all rolled into one making it one of those, {I want that for my wedding} moments!

Vintage & Pastel Springtime Affair

Helllllo Memorial Day Weekend! Oh summer, you are finally here. Well, you would think by the weather over in NYC it was the start of rainy season {what is rainy season??} but anyway, I’m hoping that wherever you are, you’re ringing in the summer with a BBQ, the beach and some sun! But at the Belle Rose Maison in Conroe, Texas where Emily and Derek’s wedding was this spring, the weather was already beautiful; and the wedding was too!

Amy Watson Photography captured all of the details gorgeously and Emily created such a cool mix of vintage decor paired with pastel colors. Her inspiration came from Breakfast at Tiffany’s so using different colored bridesmaids dresses, floral arrangements in pastels and incorporating vintage accents for her centerpieces and gift + card tables helped her pull off the contrast beautifully and created a perfect spring wedding…. just in time for the last unofficial day of the spring season!

Trend Alert: Floral Crowns

We are long overdue for some accessory inspiration and for May, I couldn’t think of anything better than the floral crown {or halo}…

Historically, we may not see it as often as, say, the traditional veil or even the birdcage veil but that’s what makes it even more special! Perfect for a Spring wedding, an outdoor affair, or better yet, a garden ceremony, a floral crown can serve as that rustic, earthy, elegant or just unique accessory that you {the bride} or maybe even the flower girl (sixth photo below) can pull off magically!

Board {#9} Sage Green, Grey & Peach

Hello weekend! With Saturday just around the corner, and summer too for that matter, we couldn’t help but dive in as well – wedding style. The perfect May wedding gives your guests a hint of summer without losing Spring! And what’s best to give that just right feel than the just right colors! So today it’s sage green, grey and peach… three choices that subtly compliment each other and {I hope} blend what I envision as a bit of tradition {peach}, trendy {grey} and vintage {sage green}. Oh and not too summery but not too springy. Emphasize the peaches and greens in your floral choices and bridesmaids dresses to keep things feeling light and airy and blend in a bit of grey here and there for flavor.. like the ribbons on the bridesmaids bouquets or the pewter centerpieces – both middle row! Enjoy Spring while it lasts.. Memorial Day is just around the corner you know…
