Board {#14} Bermuda Inspired

It’s been awhile since we headed down to Bermuda – wedding style so it feels long overdue for a Bermuda inspired post {complete with Bermuda shorts obviously}. Today is all about the colors, finding the right way to combine the vibrant pinks and blues with other palette options like… one of my favorites {and color of the year} – emerald green! This is a perfect way to incorporate your own favorite palette choices into a destination with a very distinct color scheme!

Board {#13} Mad Men Inspired

As another Monday rolls around {why do I feel like I’m always saying this..} it’s time for a throwback board, all they way back to Mad Men inspired. That means 50 years ago and lots of vintage style. Musts include the classic martini, a fur + brooch, a birdcage veil, and lace gloves. The look? Not quite Betty Draper and not quite Joan Harris {for the Mad Men fans}, but a nice blend somewhere in the middle…

Board {#11} Gatsby Inspired

I know I may have missed the boat on this one, the Great Gatsby is so last month, but because I only just saw the movie last week, I get a free pass. You can’t be inspired without the visual right? So here it is. Lots of golds and blacks, art deco, sequins and headpieces all of which made multiple appearances in the movie as did my own city – NYC! So if you’re into the vintage wedding scene, this should serve as some non-mainstream inspiration, not necessarily the traditional take on vintage but with the 20s back in style these days, it definitely works.

Board {#9} Sage Green, Grey & Peach

Hello weekend! With Saturday just around the corner, and summer too for that matter, we couldn’t help but dive in as well – wedding style. The perfect May wedding gives your guests a hint of summer without losing Spring! And what’s best to give that just right feel than the just right colors! So today it’s sage green, grey and peach… three choices that subtly compliment each other and {I hope} blend what I envision as a bit of tradition {peach}, trendy {grey} and vintage {sage green}. Oh and not too summery but not too springy. Emphasize the peaches and greens in your floral choices and bridesmaids dresses to keep things feeling light and airy and blend in a bit of grey here and there for flavor.. like the ribbons on the bridesmaids bouquets or the pewter centerpieces – both middle row! Enjoy Spring while it lasts.. Memorial Day is just around the corner you know…

Board {#8} Les Misérables

As another Monday rolls around, I thought it was perfect timing for a little throwback inspiration board… all the way back to 1800s France and the renewed popularity of Les Misérables thanks to Anne Hathaway singing “I Dreamed a Dream”.. Believe it or not, “themed” weddings are gaining more popularity (I’m talking some very {odd} themes like circuses, Harry Potter, the Wizard of Oz… you name it) so why not Les Mis? At least for this one you can spin it as French countryside + vintage style, and the result, well you tell me. Here is our version of a semi-modernized Les Misérables inspired affair…
