Spring…are you there? Well according to daylight savings we have officially crossed the threshold to springtime (at least in terms of sunlight) so I figured we could also “spring ahead” here on One to Wed! So while we count down the final days until the vernal equinox (yes, the real beginning of Spring) I figured I would jump head first into the wonderful spring season. What could you not like about spring? To give you a glimpse of what’s to come, we are preparing a lot of ideas around bright, beautiful colors, April and May weddings and of course everything in between! So don’t think this is all you will see about spring… this is only the beginning.
As I mentioned, although it may not officially be springtime, we sure can dream. So today I’m imagining a springtime wedding at the Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia (check out this incredible mansion below). This (or of course something like it) is the most perfect backdrop for a spring wedding; somewhere with lush greenery and beautiful flowers. I’m envisioning a color palette of light pink (for the bridesmaids of course) and a very light blue/grey/teal for everything else! And by everything I really do mean everything.. this incredible pairing of colors is perfect for the groomsmen (below) as well as the table settings and the pretty blue flowers peeping out of the bouquet. And the wedding dress? White of course to contrast our romantic pink bridal party gowns! Now I think you can go either way with the fabric here… As long as the dress is whimsical and light for the spring I love these two contrasting choices by Monique Lhuillier and Aria. The Bliss by Monique Lhuillier gown emphasizes shape over texture with a clean satin finish beneath the waist but an incredible shape. The Aria dress has a bit more texture, made of silk organza making it the airy, light-hearted option. And what better to finish off our first spring wedding? A dessert bar of course! There are so many options for desserts but why not make it fun without going dessert overboard (for example one fabulous dessert table instead of one full dessert room!) I’m going with the aesthetics here and these dessert bars say a lot in a picture… just imagine how delicious they taste!
