Rounding out a beautiful week of fall weddings is this fabulous carnival-themed affair by Nancy Ray Photography. So what is a “carnival” themed reception? Well, one that comes complete with caramel apples, cotton candy and lots of fun details!
Gretchen and Greg created a day unique to them with lots of little touches like the colorful bridesmaids dresses, yellow shoes, wildflower bouquets and suspenders + bow ties for the groomsmen. So with all of their creative and thoughtful touches it’s hard not to notice the beauty (and whimsy) of this wedding and take in all the fun!
Fall is still in the air on OTW and next up is this gorgeous fall country wedding by Jennifer Weems Photography. High school sweethearts Amy and Nick found ways to incorporate plenty of style into their big day plus lots of DIY details. And check out the style… a groom in jeans, the bridesmaids in all different dresses, and an essential pair of boots! Then there are the details, from the table settings to the flowers to the beautiful scenery, this country fall wedding is all around fun!
It’s day 2 of our fall week here on OTW and we have another Tennessee wedding (what is it with Tennessee + fall weddings??) This wedding, captured gorgeously by Wild Cotton Photography, seems perfectly down to earth from the small-town ceremony to the fun details, the bright reds that blend into the season and the beyond fabulous bouquets.
And this wedding wasn’t your traditional nighttime affair. The couple, Paul and Katie, decided on a brunch complete with mimosas and a bloody mary bar, mini-apple fritters from Dickson Donuts, brown-sugar bacon, bacon & leek shrimp and grits, pancake skewers and a biscuit bar that included Amish jams. As if the fall colors and details weren’t swoon worthy enough; the brunch pushes it just over the edge of fabulous on the wedding front!
We may be into only week two of April, but it’s never too early to start planning for fall weddings! So this week, we have a full week a real fall weddings planned. Starting today with this gorgeous Tennessee military wedding by Ace Photography. Filled with seasonal details this wedding is the perfect start to our full week of fall! Happy Monday!
Today officially kicks off the crazies of the shopping season which means we’re kicking off more winter wedding posts! There have been a few here and there because I couldn’t help myself, but now we’re in full swing… So today I wanted something perfect for right after Thanksgiving, just into December, something that works a little bit for fall and a little bit for Christmas and winter. And so… it’s the fabulously sexy eggplant (dark purple) and gold wedding palette!
The beginning of December is funny for a wedding. Is it Thanksgiving? Christmas? Winter? That’s what makes this palette choice a perfect mix. The “eggplant”, a rich deep purple, reminds me more of fall or late winter but blending it with gold makes me think a little more Christmas with the sparkles, lights and glam! So today it’s simple, I’m suggesting combining both for a winter color palette that’s both fancy (gold trimmed cake – first photo, gold sequin heels – second photo, elegant gold lined invites – sixth photo) but fally (eggplant flower boutonnieres – forth photo, purple and blush rose bouquet – tenth photo) with a little touch of winter to come (dark purple bridesmaids dress and winter bouquet – third photo). Sprinkle in some jewels, I love all things Kate & Company including this antique amethyst and gold wedding pendant (fifth photo), and amethyst bracelet (seventh photo). I also have a fab Etsy find in the form of the amethyst and topaz earrings (ninth photo)…. all in all our own little inspiration board (post) for the perfect winter (and fall) eggplant purple and gold wedding palette!
