Western Elegance

I’ve done a few posts here and there with different interpretations of traditional western weddings but today we’re taking a bit of a different spin on it – western elegance. This one is pretty self explanatory, just some class and style for your everyday wedding. That means roses + lots of other flowers, the occasional {or plentiful} pink decor choices but still a flair for the classic country style. Combined? It’s our own take on western elegance.

Trend Alert: The Wedding Cowboy Boot

As we make our way toward the holiday season, I have to get all of my non-holiday wedding musings out before we start our very first countdown to Christmas (wedding style)! So that means today, no season related wedding thoughts here… straight country style! In fact trending country style! Now I use “trend alert” lightly here because I realize that glorious wedding cowboy boots are not even close to a new trend and nowhere near going out of style… but in my world that means it’s still trending!

So today we’re going there.. examining wedding cowboy boots and how awesome they are! And this is coming from someone who normally lacks major country style! So why the cowboy boot as a part of your big day? Well for one I bet they’re more comfy than your 4 inch heel alternative. For two, they make really fun pictures, and for three, well they’re different right? You don’t have to be country to love this style because after all they are hidden… so here’s your chance to get crazy. Maybe even pick a loud color, vintage pattern or crazy design?

The Western Way

For someone who has never really been to the “wild wild west”, I certainly can dream up my own version of a western wedding! It may be a little early for an outdoor wedding here on the East Coast but in America’s heartland, I’d say it’s the perfect time to grab your cowboy hat and start planning..

And the first thing on my western wedding agenda? The boots of course! Cowboy boots are the ultimate accessory; so much more than a shoe, they are the statement piece for the bride-to-be. I would even concede that it’s the dress that needs to match those boots! And to take it a step further, I love how you can accessorize your bridesmaids with the boot trend as well! And even better? How about the boot becomes your bridesmaids gift? Now they are not only the perfect accessory but also the perfect gift… I love how these blue-gray bridesmaids dresses match the boots flawlessly. The dress length is just right for an outdoor wedding and the color is so earthy, it blends in with nature. And the venue? My pick is the Vista West Ranch outside of Austin, Texas (check out the incredible ceremony set-up below). It is graceful, rustic and utterly Texan! And down to the details? Make sure you pick the perfect little things…like these invitations, the wedding cake choice, your creative outfits for the flower girl and ring bearer and the horse of course!
