Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day! Maybe this is a little too predictable, and you may have already guessed it but it’s full on American style with reds, whites, and blues for the 4th of July! The theme may not be perfect for a wedding any other day of the year but if it’s today {ok or maybe over a “4th of July weekend”} you can pull it off. Outdoors is best, rustic is good, and fireworks at the end are a must. Happy 4th!

Vintage Americana

As promised, plenty of Americana traditions and ideas are coming your wedding for planning your wedding day with some 4th of July spirit so today we’re going vintage – vintage Americana! For a July 4th week wedding, this is a perfect way to incorporate the holiday and the overall spirit without going down the cheesy route {but don’t worry we have ideas on that too.. lots of bright reds, whites, and blues coming your way on Thursday}. So I envision the vintage Americana theme for an outdoor wedding, I like the idea of a barn reception, I think it gives the overall vintage theme right from the start but it’s the decor that can make this theme even more special. Using washed out reds and blues gives the vintage feel and choosing unique items like the adorable favor tags from Etsy (eighth photo), or the fun red parasols on the back of the truck (last photo) add to the overall vintage feel!

Trend Alert: Powder Blue & Pewter

Powder blue and pewter has the perfect ring to it.. kind of just rolls off the tongue. And similarly, these two colors look just as great together as they sound. For a spring or summer wedding, pairing the pales of blue with pewter makes for an elegant combo that leaves room to add bolder decor pieces here and there!

Happy Monday!

Board {#10} Peachs & Blues

Happy Tuesday lovelies! After a rocky start to the week {major Monday blues} I wanted a good kind of blue for a happier Tuesday! So peaches and blues it is for today; the perfect inspiration for a mid-May wedding. You don’t always see shades of blue in one palette but when complimented by a peach or pale pink, a lighter blue and a dusty grey-blue work just right together! The evidence? In pictures…

Shades of Blue {Wedding Shoes}

Well not to be to cliché here but yesterday I was feeling a little {blue}…it’s something about Monday’s I suppose.. But today I’m turning all that into some productivity and funneling all the sad, blue beginning of the week energy into some fabulous shoes! Far and away my favorite something blue item is the wedding shoe. You absolutely cannot go wrong here. And today just goes to show how fun the blue wedding shoe is. I’m a sucker for Christian Louboutin, but blue wedding shoes don’t need to mean expensive. You can get creative or you can make this a splurge. But the reason it always works is that fun mix of tradition and your own personality. Somehow a good pair of shoes always makes me smile… and hopefully gets us all through the week!
