Trend Alert: Powder Blue & Pewter

Powder blue and pewter has the perfect ring to it.. kind of just rolls off the tongue. And similarly, these two colors look just as great together as they sound. For a spring or summer wedding, pairing the pales of blue with pewter makes for an elegant combo that leaves room to add bolder decor pieces here and there!

Happy Monday!

Off the Beaten Path: Ombre, Ombre, Ombre

Ombre.. What is it and why for a wedding? Not only is it trendy these days, but it’s also fun for dazzling up your wedding details. This isn’t something that needs to be used all over your wedding; keep it to one or two elements and you are golden because it gives just enough of a statement that you can keep it to a minimum. You can blend the ombre details into your color scheme and use it as creatively as you can; invites, fashion, or food. They all work when done right!

Oh and if you’re wondering what exactly ombre is? Graduating colors from light to dark – or vice versa.

Enjoy :)

Vintage Styled {Summer} Shoot

I love when I stumble across gorgeous styled shoots that just about convince me they aren’t just a shoot and this one did just that. Captured by Gigi Hickman Photography this shoot was set in Washington’s wine country and was complete with whimsical details; balloons, pastels, a champagne cart, a floral dog collar and of course my personal favorite, macaroons!

There is something vintage, delicate and very pretty about this shoot all rolled into one making it one of those, {I want that for my wedding} moments!

Bridal Shower Etiquette: The Mason Jar Centerpiece

Back to the bridal shower today! And in the spirit of summer we wanted to put together enough DIY mason jar ideas for every MOH or bridesmaid to use for their sisters, cousins, or best friends indoor, outdoor, elegant, rustic, fresh or funky shower.

The mason jar has become a staple for the cool wedding customized easily with some DIY touches. While they are perfect for outdoor and casual weddings, they are also perfect for spring and summer bridal showers making fun, inexpensive and unique centerpieces. Honestly, I love all of the options below {obviously – I picked them} but a few things that I gush over most:

1. tinted blue or green {or any color} mason jars
2. mason jars with bow ties {ie a twine bow at their neck}
3. the unconventional mason jar {think old milk jug instead of mason jar to spice things up}

Happy bridal shower planning lovelies!

Barnyard Décor

Back to the barn today, {it’s been awhile since our last barynard inspired post} but today we’re doing it a bit differently because it’s all about the little details – the décor. So from the ceremony to the floral design, the outside and inside arrangement, or just the architecture, a barnyard wedding brings character and charm to a wedding day, just in time for the summer season! The trick is picking those just right details to make your day into your dream wedding!
