For the Weathered {Effect}

Weathered what? In case you missed it, the “weathered” effect {commonly known as vintage or rustic} is trending big time on the wedding front, and for good reason! It’s that cool! You may not have even noticed it at a recent wedding because it can be used so sleekly in terms of decor; whether it’s the type of bouquet you choose, a few Etsy accessories that are part of your big day (check out the second and third photos), your favors (sixth photo – another Etsy find), or your general décor (last photo), there are plenty of subtle but obvious ways modern brides are incorporating a more vintage {or weathered as I like to call it} look into their wedding day.

Western Elegance

I’ve done a few posts here and there with different interpretations of traditional western weddings but today we’re taking a bit of a different spin on it – western elegance. This one is pretty self explanatory, just some class and style for your everyday wedding. That means roses + lots of other flowers, the occasional {or plentiful} pink decor choices but still a flair for the classic country style. Combined? It’s our own take on western elegance.

Black… and White

There is nothing that I hate more than tacky black and white weddings. And this is coming from a lover of all black colored items. {I did, for a time have a black bedspread, and was proud of it.} But when it comes to weddings, black and white must never be tacky, elegance is the only {I repeat} only direction to go with this palette. And with that, I present my take on the ultimate black and white wedding accessories/ideas/thoughts in pictures.

Art Deco Inspired

Because I couldn’t kick the recent revival of art deco in part driven by The Great Gatsby, and even though I already put together this little inspiration board, I wanted to think a bit more on the theme… but this time with less emphasis on flashy gold accessories. So you may find this to be a muted version of our Great Gatsby board but hopefully more “useable” as mainstream wedding ideas!

Happy Thursday!

An Ode to {Red} Stripes

July 4th may be behind us but that doesn’t mean we’re done with our reds, whites and blues! With one more day left, we’re devoting it to red stripes! A more subtle patriotism…hope you enjoy!
