East Meets West – Maine Wedding Style

It’s a dramatic end to the week here on OTW with plenty of purple and gold details that blend beautifully to create a bold and dramatic Maine wedding captured by Casey Durgin Photography. The wedding, held at the bride’s family residence in Neddick, Maine started with a stunning backdrop but was a lot more than just a pretty picture. The details blended the bride and groom, Natalie and Rahul’s, backgrounds; masterfully pulling their different cultures into one fabulous day. Bright with colors, modern with details, and beautiful all the way, this wedding makes for a very happy Friday!

The Loveliest Spring Bridesmaid Dresses

Spring may feel far away (at least for me thanks to these way too chilly temps) but we’re in full on Spring mode here at OTW! And today, we’re all about the fashion. The bridesmaids dress market may seem daunting especially for a Spring wedding because there is, well, just an overwhelming amount of options. Too many colors, style, lengths, designers, prices ranges etc leads to bridal confusion! But why make it more complicated than it is? Whether it’s Spring or any season, you should be choosing dresses that fit your big day, not that fit what the typical bridesmaids dress is. And that’s what makes these springtime picks so refreshing.

When I think of Spring weddings, for me it’s all about flowers, light and airy colors, and light {literally speaking} fabrics. So the dresses don’t have to be what ticks all of the traditional boxes but instead what fits your wedding and the season… and that’s what makes these choices special. I’d like to consider all of these just on the edge of non-traditional but a wonderful edge that every bride should go to to find that.perfect.bridesmaids.dress!!

Dress of the Week – Theia

Well as another Wednesday rolls around I was searching for something a little different for our dress of the week and I found this perfect option right under my own nose at Neiman Marcus (dress by Theia). Because who finds their wedding dress at just another go-to store! Well… that’s what makes this option special. If you’ve suddenly found yourself on an already stretched budget, one alternative to the absurdly priced, traditional wedding dress is a perfectly lovely non-traditional wedding dress. This one may have a slight metallic hint of color, which I’m not at all opposed to, but I assure you, if white is your thing, then you can find a non-traditional white one too and since your dream dress isn’t tagged to the word wedding… I guarantee, the price will be killer! And the dress gorgeous! Happy Wednesday!

Rustic Temecula, California Farmhouse Wedding

With summer just around the corner… {what? kind of… maybe?} I was thinking that a wedding something like this rustic California affair captured perfectly by Aga Jones Photography was that “just right” vision for a pre-summer fix! Complete with plenty of DIY details, a very rustic flair, a mountainous backdrop, and a picturesque outdoor ceremony, this Temucula, CA farmhouse wedding is just the thing for a dreary March Tuesday!

Board {#5} Passionate Red and Cotton Candy Pink

Monday’s always start better with some color and today with a little winter storm on the way to NYC, I wanted lots of bright colors… along the lines of reds and pinks to create a pretty {Valentine’s Day?} wedding palette. Well obviously we missed the memo on V-day but that doesn’t mean these colors can’t be used in a palette for a spring wedding. I love little details that blend pinks and reds without making them obnoxious. An elegant mix to create the perfect passionate red and cotton candy pink palette!
