For the Flower Girl…

Oh, hello adorable flower girl! Don’t have one? Think after you see this picture you may want one. While we may not all have a delightful little niece or friend’s child on hand to be the flower girl in our wedding, wouldn’t it be nice if we did? I felt like my summer Friday was complete only after seeing this pic… hope you agree!

Long Island City Love

I always love a good New York City wedding and this one seemed perfect as we’re getting closer to the weekend! And for a little twist, we even added a few engagement shots because they were just too fun to be forgotten! Michael Chadwick Photography shot both the engagement and wedding all over NYC!

From the photographer {Samantha and Adam had a fantastic and fun engagement shoot in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, followed a few months later by an extraordinarily New York style wedding! The dress was revealed at the top of their ceremony and reception venue, Penthouse 808 in Long Island City. We then boarded a huge party bus for a quick tour of some of New York’s most famous landmarks, including Grand Central Station and a quick tour of Central Park. The wedding and reception were beautiful and elegant, and everyone had an unforgettable time celebrating}

Sending lots of love from NYC!

Dress of the Week – Jennifer Salzman

Made it to Wednesday but boy does it feel like a long week {again}! With the summer in full swing, I of course needed a dress that fit the upcoming season and found it when I laid eyes on this little number by Jennifer Salzman! It felt just whimsical enough for summertime, trendy enough for a modern bride, but unique enough to turn heads! I mean.. can I draw your attention to the skirt?!

Shades of Mint

Have you heard the Pantone color of the year is Mint? {Just kidding}… it’s actually Emerald! But who needs emerald when you can have some summery shades of mint…

The truth is I love them both, but today is just proof that mint is not only fun but a fresh color for brides who are looking for something a little different. So where do we start? Fashion of course! You can dress the maids in mint, you can even dress the groom in mint, you can even accessorize with mint (floral crown or manicure anyone?), or if minty clothing isn’t your thing, you can decorate with it for a more subtle touch. But you can’t go wrong especially in the spring or summer!

And while it may not be the 2013 color of the year, who knows what the winning color will be next year…

New Orleans Romance

Happy Monday lovelies! To kick start the week, we’re very excited to share this New Orleans affair by Mark Eric Photography complete with the flavor of the city, a romantic candlelit ceremony in a Parisian inspired courtyard, lots of French style and dramatic decor touches to top it all off. This wedding combined beautiful details with lots of fun {check out the brass band parade}! More in the words of the bride below…

In the words of the bride: Laissez les Bons temps rouler was what we had in mind while planning our wedding and let the good times roll is what we did! We wanted our guests to be able to experience a true New Orleans wedding while still keeping a romantic and intimate feel to it. From second lining down Canal St. led by the famed Original Pin Stripes Brass Band to dancing all night to the tunes of The TopCats we wanted to make sure our guests were entertained all night. One of our favorite things about New Orleans is Jackson Square and all the widely unique items the small square has to offer. We absolutely love caricature drawings so we had a caricature artist from New York create a rendering of us, which we placed on magnets, and sent out as our save the dates. To tie in our save the dates we had two caricature artists on hand creating custom drawings for the guests -which everyone is still raving about!! From the very beginning I envisioned a candlelit ceremony and reception; the ambiance that candle light provides is unmatched. With a Parisian inspired courtyard as the backdrop to our wedding, very little was needed to enhance the site. I wanted to keep the decor simple and elegant as not to distract from the venue itself but still wanted a touch of drama for the reception!
