Romantic Venetian Wedding {Elopement Style}

Who needs your everyday city hall when you can have the Greek Consulate in Venice – a romantic wedding {elopement style}. So that’s exactly what this beautiful Greek couple living in Germany did… they headed straight to Italy for the perfect wedding. But don’t worry, a full and traditional wedding to follow next year! For now, take in the lovely and private details for this cozy day, shot by Luca Faz. Starting with the pre-wedding prep at the Carnival Palace Hotel in Venice, I am obsessed with the fun and stylish “bridal gown”. How perfect is this to ring in the big day without making a big fuss; trendy and cool but very non-traditional. From the hotel to a “vaporetto” (water bus) ride to the consulate and then photos shot around Venice, this couple makes the day all about each other framed in the beautiful backdrop of this perfect floating city.

Romantic Lakeside Engagement Session

I love finding an engagement shoot when you can literally feel the love {and creativity} shine through, and today, Ace Photography gave us just that. This shoot, at a quiet lake and then onto downtown Nashville makes you want to jump into the photos of this wonderfully happy couple! I love the thought that was put into making this engagement session not just a photo shoot, but a true day out for the couple filled with some fabulous props and lots of fun!

Dress of the Week – Cymbeline

This Wednesday, I was craving something edgy for our dress of the week, something a little unusual – at least unusual compared with my normal picks (a lot of lace, a little organza and usually very traditional…but I like to think still fabulous.) I digress. So anyway, when I found this bold gown by Cymbeline, I just had a feeling it was the one. It was like it was screaming emotion. And that is exactly what I wanted today! There is something about it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think maybe the combination of the bold scalloped lace, the tulle skirt and maybe just a little bit of the structured shoulder line that makes it perfect for today!

Trend Alert: Bridesmaids Patterns

What’s all the fuss about patterns anyway? Every season there’s always a new trend on the runway, but one that you hear {actually} a lot about is the pattern. Not always the same one, but guaranteed, at least once every season there is a pattern that is the next big thing. But, it’s not that way in the wedding world. How often do you see a to-die-for patterned bridesmaids dress? Well, you just don’t. That is… until you look beyond the norm. There are plenty of patterns out there, and no one is stopping you from finding that perfect one at the vintage store down the street, the department store you grew up with, or that trendy up and coming designer. And that’s the beauty of the patterned bridesmaids dress. It’s not because everyone else is doing it. It’s because you’re making your own little interpretation of the latest runway fad and bringing it straight to the aisle!
